The Appalachian State University 2023 Freshwater Conference is a one-day conference is focused on the theme “Fresh Water” and intends to explore the ways fresh water connects and affects us across cultures, industries, science, and art, both in Appalachia and in a broader context. This conference is put on with support for the Research Institute for Environment, Energy, and Economics, as well as many academic departments across Appalachian State.
The conference will feature 8 speakers, both internal and external to Appalachian State, from across disciplines, with a moderated discussion for each pair of speakers. Our intent is to foster meaningful, creative, and exciting discussion across disciplines to better understand the way freshwater connects us.
