Precipitation Observing Network in the Upper Madre de Dios, Peru

To advance our scientific comprehension of spatiotemporal precipitation patterns in the region, the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco (UNSAAC), in collaboration with National Geographic Explorers Dr. Baker Perry, Dr. Josh West, Ruthmery Pillco, and various local collaborators, aims to establish and oversee a network of citizen science manual precipitation observation sites. This initiative spans from Puerto Maldonado to the Pihuayani Pass at an elevation of 4,728 meters and includes coverage within Manu National Park.
